Ride for Education

  • Uniting Church 1 Sherwood Road Port Macquarie, NSW, 2444 Australia (map)

Hosted by Mid North Coast Refugee Support, this special evening on Saturday, 8 June, welcomes Muzafar Ali, a former Hazara refugee and humanitarian, as he passes through Port Macquarie on his inspiring 4,000km ride from Maleny to Adelaide. The Ride for Education campaign aims to raise $250,000 to support refugee-led education initiatives through Cisarua Learning, providing access to education for over 2,000 students across seven countries, including women and girls in Afghanistan and refugee children in Indonesia and Thailand.

The event begins at 5:30 pm with a shared community dinner (please bring a plate to share), followed by a screening of The Staging Post—a powerful documentary that highlights refugee-led education, community, and hope.

Gold coin entry and donations are encouraged to support the cause.
